Romell F. Ferguson

Romell F. Ferguson (nee Sparks), of Minooka, Ill., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at her late residence.  

She was born in Morris, Ill., the daughter of the late Chester and Florence Sparks (nee Henderson). She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Gordon E. Ferguson Sr., (2012); loving mother of Pamela Karl, Gordon Jr. (Missy Felker) Ferguson, Mike (Judy) Ferguson, Terry (Renae) Ferguson and Tim (Paula Marr) Ferguson; proud grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of 15, soon to be 16; dear sister of Gretchen (George) Harris, the late Dwaine, the late Chester “Pat,” the late Ross “Benny” and the late Delores “Mitzi”; fond sister-in-law of Grace Duray.

Romell was enthusiastic about shared interests with her late husband, she enjoyed the time they spent together at Tractor Shows and was an active member of the Central States Threshermen’s Reunion, and was a fan of NASCAR Racing and Mark Martin. But those closest to her would agree that her passion in life was family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Services for Romell F. Ferguson will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at The Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Road, Channahon, Ill.. Interment Seward Mound Cemetery, Minooka.
