BRIEF: Aurora man accused of sexually assaulting girl, 7

AURORA (MCT) — An Aurora man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl in southwest suburban Oswego in 2012, authorities said.

Joseph J. Evans, 38, of the of the 1500 block of Galway Drive in Aurora, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kendall County sheriff's office.

On June 17 of 2012, a woman called deputies and reported that her 7-year-old daughter had been assaulted by an acquaintance of the family, the office said.

An arrest warrant for Evans, with a bond of $250,000, was issued on July 26. Evans was taken into custody on Nov. 8, according to the statement.

He was booked into Cook County Jail on Nov. 9, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.
