A diamond elephant pin, a Liberty Head gold piece and a lot of vintage baseball cards are just some of the items that Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is offering in the next Illinois Treasurer’s Online Unclaimed Property Auction.

The auction starts at 10 a.m. Monday and starts closing at 10 a.m. Nov. 22. If you are interested in seeing the items up for bid, visit www.treasurer.il.gov and click on the auction preview button, according to a news release from Rutherford’s office.

The office is auctioning 28,687 pieces of unclaimed property because the rightful owners have not come forward to claim the items in more than five years, Rutherford said in the news release.

Buyers are responsible for purchasing their auction winnings with either Visa or MasterCard. A 2 percent administrative fee will be assessed. Buyers also are required to pay for shipping.

Registration required to take part; for questions about registration, contact 217-785-6998.
