Minooka boys bowlers open with win

The Minooka boys bowling team opened up the season with a win over Hinsdale South, claiming a 499-pin victory. The Indians won by a final of 3,388-2,889.

Kai Devine led the locals with a 760 series while John Kauffman added a 658, Zach Segatti a 654, Dylan Pickett a 651 and Jack Russell a 644.

At the frosh-soph level, Minooka won 2,870-2,142 behind the top game of Austin Schomig (587). Alan Koch rolled a 573.



Saratoga 29,

Shabbona 26

Tyler Spiezio had 16 points while Payton Voitik added six points, including the game winning field goal in overtime.

For Shabbona, Nathan Wantland had 12 points and Marques Kjellesvik 11 points.

At the seventh-grade level, Saratoga beat Shabbona 32-21 behind 13 points by Ethan Heap.

Jacob Overbek had eight pojnts and Patrick McCabe seven.

At the sixth-grade level, Saratoga beat Shabbona 33-28 with Jack Walker scoring 15 points and Cole Laurie 12 points.

Nick Jones and Kaleb Spreitzer had six points apiece in the loss by the Warriors.


Seneca 31,

Wilmington 2

Lydia Robinson scored 14 points for the Raiders.

In the seventh-grade game, Seneca beat Wilmington 38-23 behind eight points by Paige Hacker.

In a seventh-grade IVC tournament game, Seneca beat Saragota 31-11 with Hacker leading the way with 11 points. In the championship game, Seneca lost to MVK 24-23 with Gillian Culbreth getting nine points for the Raiders.

Robinson had 19 points for the Raiders.
