The Morris boys basketball team announced Tuesday its annual preseason scrimmage game – which will be at 6 p.m. Friday – will help support victims of Sunday’s tornado that hit the area.

Those planning on attending the game at the MCHS gym are asked to bring nonperishable items as a donation for admission this year.

Some of the suggested items include: gift cards to retail shops, pharmacies or hardware stores; fruit, bags of chips; snacks for sack lunches; sandwich bags; bottled water; sealable containers; cardboard boxes; files with closable tops for documents; toys; large garbage bags; deodorant; combs and hair brushes; toothbrushes; toothpaste; shampoo and conditioner; shaving cream; body wash; work gloves; buckets; sponges; cleaning rags; dish soap; mops; towels; baby formula; infant care items; diapers; bedding; flashlights; batteries; manual can openers; aspirin; brown lunch bags; spar pie markers; school supplies; dog and cat food; disposable coffee cups with lids; duct tape; packing tape to seal boxes; tarps; scissors; toiler paper and canned items – especially canned tuna and meats.

Cash also will be accepted at the door and given to We Care of Grundy County and they will distribute the funds as a mini-grant to those effected by the horrible storms.
