The annual Festival of Trees event will take place throughout the Home for the Holidays weekend at Grundy County Historical Society’s Museum, 510 W. Illinois Ave.

The annual Festival of Trees event will be at Grundy County Historical Society’s Museum, 510 W. Illinois Ave. Please note the new times and dates; noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

There will be a wonderful array of holiday trees, wreaths and centerpieces available by way of silent auction.

There also will be several special trees this year; a 7-inch tree adorned with homemade decorations donated by Pieces From the Heart Quilt Guild; Chicago Bears tree donated by Morris Area Garden Club; a delightful woodland tree adorned with owls donated by Reeves Baskerville Funeral Homes; a tree bejeweled with handcrafted glass ornaments created by Sarah Kleinfelt Fisher; a beautiful Holiday Table Setting for four donated by Lawrence Advertising; and gumball machines donated by Northwestern Corporation. And don’t forget a “A Night at the Movies” tree with all the goodies donated by Sandi Dransfeldt.

There are exciting raffle items this year, such as an iPad Mini donated by Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby and a Keurig coffee machine, which are on display now at the museum. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each, or six for $5. Don’t forget to enter your entrance ticket for a chance to win some holiday door prizes too!
