Gordon J. Nourie, 71, of Ottawa, Ill., passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Patrick’s Church. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Ottawa Funeral Home, 1111 LaSalle St., Ottawa, with Knights of Columba in attendance. Prayers will be at 4 p.m. He will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery.
Gordon was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Watseka, Ill., to Marvin and Anita (Mercier) Nourie. He owned and operated Nourie and Associates accounting firm. He married Sandy Beemer on April 25, 1964, in Martinton, Ill. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, and its honor guard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; one son, Joel (Christina) of Chicago; one grandson, Colin; one sister, Karen (John) Duffin of Urbana, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Susan Nourie of Kankakee, Ill.; and one brother, Terry (Cheryl) Nourie of Normal, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Larry.
Pallbearers will be Reese Duffin, Allen Stein Kraus, Geoff Beemer, Brian Nourie, Jason Nourie and Michael Nourie.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church or Marquette Academy.
