Ottawa pediatrist Dr. Brittany Crowhurst was recently awarded a Diplomate of the Board Certificate.

OTTAWA – The American Board of Podiatric Medicine recently recognized an Ottawa podiatrist for attaining board certification.

Dr. Brittany Crowhurst was awarded a diplomate of the board certificate upon successful completion of the board exam in October.

ABPM oversees the certification process that validates a podiatrist’s credibility and expertise in the practice of podiatric medicine and orthopedics.

Board certification provides the assurance to both the public and health professionals that the highest level of achievement has been attained in the specialty area, according to a news release.

Crowhurst performs surgical foot procedures at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in addition to serving as the medical director for its Outpatient Wound Care Clinic. She has been a staff member since 2011.

“I’m happy to have attained board certification,” Crowhurst said in the news release.

“One of the areas I’m pleased to focus on as a podiatrist is wound care for diabetics. Those individuals should pay special attention to any sores or injuries to the foot or ankle region.”

Crowhurst offers the Outpatient Wound Care Clinic, by appointment, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the 1050 Medical Office Building at the hospital.

She also maintains office hours as a private practitioner with Crowhurst Foot Care in Ottawa.
