Morris hospital employee selected for excellence award

MORRIS – After devoting 28 years to leading Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers in the area of risk management, Linda Petrick has been honored for her expertise and commitment to her field. Petrick was selected as the recipient of the S. A. Gross Award for Risk Management Excellence.

The award is given annually by Illinois Risk Management Services, a part of the Illinois Hospital Association Business Solutions, in recognition of a risk management leader’s contributions, according to a news release from the hospital.

Over the span of her career at Morris Hospital, Petrick, of Morris, has had responsibility for quality, medical records and risk management. As a full-time risk manager today, she devotes her time to identifying, assessing and minimizing risk to the organization, all with a goal of establishing a safe environment for everyone who enters the doors of Morris Hospital and its Healthcare Centers.

“We are very proud of Linda for receiving this prestigious award,” Dean Marketti, chief financial and information officer at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, said in the news release.

“She is well respected by staff and physicians at the hospital and is consulted routinely by all departments for issues involving risk or potential liability. This recognition is a tribute to her strong knowledge base, patient advocacy and willingness to always help everyone.”
