CARBON HILL – The annual Holiday Open House at the Carbon Hill School Museum will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the schoolhouse, 875 Second St. in Carbon Hill.
The schoolhouse will once again be decked out with touches of Christmas from Victorian 1890s to our own remembered Christmases past, according to a news release from the museum. Familiar decorations, nativity scenes, shiny brights, wax figure candles and Santas are surrounded by vintage quilts, velvets and furs and treasured gifts – some handmade, others ordered from the catalog or bought at a name brand store.
The good silver is out. Novelties from the dime store fill the shelves. Lit trees provide the glow. Refreshments will be served and donations are taken at the door.
