Wedding announcement: Tweet-Steppe

Karen Tweet of Minooka and Jordan Steppe of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, married Sept. 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ackley, Iowa. The couple celebrated their union with a reception at the Community Center in Grundy Center, Iowa. Karen is the daughter of Barbara Tweet of Sheridan and Sherman (Carla) Tweet Jr. of Minooka. Jordan is the son of Richard and Lareen Steppe of Steamboat Rock.

Bridesmaids in the wedding were Sarah Landers of Mendota, sister of bride; Kelly Walton of Milford Center, Ohio, sister of bride; Allison Kjormoe of Steamboat Rock, friend of bride; and Heidi Stack of Lafayette, Ind., friend of bride. The flowergirl was Meeya Walton of Milford Center, Ohio, niece of bride.

Groomsmen in the wedding were Justin Steppe of Steamboat Rock, brother of groom; Justin Ross of Steamboat Rock, friend of groom; Jason Steiner of New Providence, Iowa, friend of groom; and Jeramy Akins of Redfield, Iowa, friend of groom. Ushers were Matthew Meyer of Stockton, friend of bride; Adam Hake of Sandwich, friend of bride; Eric Minteer of Wellsburg, Iowa, friend of groom; Todd Kjormoe, of Steamboat Rock, friend of groom. The ring bearers were Zander and Jensen Walton of Milford Center, Ohio, nephews of bride.

Karen graduated from Minooka Community High School in 2004, from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2008 and is now a research assistant. Jordan graduated from AGWSR in Ackley in 2006. He is a self-employed dairy and grain farmer. The couple now resides in Steamboat Rock.
