Inclement weather has caused a number of local athletic postponements and cancellations. Morris Community High School did not hold any games or practices Monday and will not hold any Tuesday.
The Morris girls basketball team’s Monday game against Serena and the game at DeKalb today both are postponed, with make up dates to be announced.
Also, Morris’ girls-boys basketball doubleheader Friday at Rochelle was postponed to this Friday.
In girls bowling, Morris was scheduled to compete Monday at the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Tournament at Dixon. That event has been moved to Feb. 3.
A Morris co-op boys swimming and diving meet against DeKalb and Sterling has been postponed until a to-be-announced date.
Minooka’s girls basketball game Monday at Joliet Catholic Academy was canceled, and its girls basketball game today at Planfield Central is postponed until a to-be-announced date.
Also canceled is Minooka’s girls bowling senior night Tuesday against Plainfield North.
Games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in the Interstate Eight Conference boys basketball tournament, which Coal City is hosting, have been moved to Wednesday. The tournament’s Friday games were postponed and played Saturday morning.
Coal City’s girls basketball game at Providence on Monday is postponed until a to-be-announced date. Seneca will not host Earlville in girls basketball Monday, as was originally scheduled, and its final regular-season wrestling meet at Dwight today is canceled and may or may not be rescheduled.
Three Gardner-South Wilmington boys basketball games in a five-day span have been postponed. The Panthers did not host Beecher Friday; that game will instead be played Feb. 5. Their game Monday at Iroquois West was canceled, as is their home game today with Grant Park, which will now be played Thursday. GSW also added a game Monday at Kankakee Trinity.
Also canceled was Gardner-South Wilmington’s girls basketball game Monday at St. Anne.
