MORRIS – Grundy County Clerk Lana Phillips reminds anyone who would like to vote in the March 18 general primary election that the last day to register or update their address is Feb. 18.
It is the responsibility of individuals to update their registration if they have moved or changed their name by marriage, or otherwise.
According to a new Illinois law, 17-year-olds who will be 18 on or before the Nov. 4 general election may register now and vote in the general primary election March 18.
People will need to furnish two forms of valid identification, and must prove their name twice and their address once. You may register to vote in the County Clerk’s Office, located inside the Grundy County Courthouse at 111 E. Washington St. in Morris; or at the Secretary of State’s Driver’s License facility when applying for or updating your license.
The County Clerk’s Office will be open extended hours Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon and Feb. 18 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
