Catholic Charities introduces supportive services for veteran families

JOLIET – Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet recently started offering a program to provide supportive services for veteran families (SSVF). 

SSVF assists eligible veterans who are homeless or imminently at risk of homelessness by helping them stabilize their housing situations.

Services provided include case management, vocational counseling, employment assistance, educational assistance, budgeting assistance, housing counseling and support, daily living counseling, linkage to behavioral health services and linkage to VA benefits or additional veteran services available in the community. 

SSVF temporary financial assistance can help with overdue rent, security deposits, utility assistance or deposits, and moving costs.
