Channahon police looking for armed robber

CHANNAHON -- An armed robbery occurred in the early morning hours today at the Channahon Casey's.

According to a message sent out by Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold through Nixle.com, the offender was described as a male, white, about 5'10, in his mid 20s, thin build and with blond scruffy facial hair. He wore a gray winter hat, pink bandana over his face, dark coat with a gray hood, black athletic pants with a white strip down the side, and athletic shoes.

The weapon used during the robbery was a steak knife.

He left the scene driving a dark SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, likely to be covered with mud spray from driving through a field.

Wold said this is the latest information available on the incident and could not release what was taken from the Casey's.

Channahon police ask anyone with information about this case or on the possible suspect, to call 815-467-5152.
