Channahon police looking for armed robber

CHANNAHON – An armed robbery occurred in the early morning hours Friday at the Channahon Casey’s.

According to a message sent out by Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold through, the store located at 25258 W. Eames St. in Channahon was robbed just after 1 a.m.

The offender was described as a male, white, about 5’10, in his mid 20s, thin build and with blond scruffy facial hair. He wore a gray winter hat, pink bandana over his face, dark coat with a gray hood, black athletic pants with a white stripe down the side, and athletic shoes.

The weapon used during the robbery was a steak knife. 

He left the scene driving a dark SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, likely to be covered with mud spray from driving through a field.

Wold said Friday afternoon this was the latest information available on the incident and could not release what was taken from the Casey’s.
