MORRIS – The second annual Chili Cook-Off hosted by the Saratoga School Music Boosters will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the small gym of Saratoga School, 4040 N. Division.
Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the door the day of the event. There will be 20 chili chefs bringing their best recipes to compete for bragging rights and a nice engraved cutting board.
There will be chili with various ingredients like venison, pulled pork, turkey, vegetarian and more. A description of each recipe will be at each table and guests will know how spicy each chili will be.
In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle available as well as silent auction items such as voice lessons, a White Sox autographed picture, gift certificates from area stores and more. Students and their parents will be on duty to help serve chili and meet guests.
Last year’s event raised more than $4,000 and the money went to buy new band uniforms. This year the money will be allocated to purchase a music technology program for all grades as well as supplemental materials and instruments for the music program.
