Minooka high school students win awards at tech competition

MINOOKA – Minooka Community High School’s chapter of the Technology Student Association (TSA) participated in the TSA State Conference in Bloomington last month. The MCHS team performed very well and earned the following place finishes:

• Tech Bowl: First place: senior McLean Holmes, senior Andrew Feigel, junior Nick Frigo, junior Joe Bergmann, and sophomore Jessica Miller.

• Problem solving No. 1: Second place – junior Joe Bergmann and junior Julie Nguyen

• Problem Solving No. 2: Third place – junior Alex Walker and junior Sadie Muzzey

• Structural Engineering –Bridge: First place – freshman Liam Dudson

• Creed: Third place – junior Julie Nguyen

• Tech Bowl Written – Level 1: First place – freshman Connor Wessling; 2nd place – freshman Tom Rodely

• Tech Bowl Written – Level 2: Second place – senior Andrew Feigel

• Problem Solving No. 3: Second place – senior Andrew Feigel and junior Brennan Behrens

• Vex Team: Fourth place – junior Nick Frigo, junior Emily Miller, junior Sadie Muzzey, and junior Joe Bergmann

Also earning special recognition at the event were juniors Emily Miller, TSA Achievement Program – Silver and Bronze; and Nick Frigo TSA Achievement Program - Silver; and sophomore Jessica Miller (TSA Achievement Program – Bronze. In addition, the following members were recognized for their participation on the TSA State Officer Team: Julie Nguyen as Secretary, Emily Miller as Treasurer, and junior Nick Frigo as Reporter. Junior Nick Frigo also was elected to serve another term as a State Officer as Sergeant-at-Arms.
