MORRIS – On March 5 Friends to Elect Ken Briley collected donations for We Care of Grundy County.

The group, which supports Republican candidate for Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley, held a personal care and paper products drive to help We Care fill its pantry with needed items, according to a news release.

"We collected for a few months to help get as many items donated to We Care as possible, our goal was to fill their shelves. When I was at We Care helping put out donated items on shelves, I met a man getting items for his family who said to me that he had never seen the shelves so full of personal care items before," said Wendy Briley, in a news release.

They decided to collect personal care items instead of food because a volunteer at We Care told the group that they receive food items often, but not many paper and personal care items are donated.

"Many of the committee members stood out in the cold winter collecting items for hours," Wendy Briley said in the release. "There are not enough words to say how thankful we are that we live in such a wonderful giving community where everyone helps out when people are in need."
