Morris Hospital cardiologist Ahmed achieves certification

MORRIS – Syed Ahmed, M.D., a cardiologist on the medical staff at Morris Hospital, has been recertified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Ahmed received his medical degree from Sindh Medical College and completed his internship at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center, both in Pakistan. He completed a three-year internal medicine residency at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., followed by a three-year fellowship in general cardiology at State University of New York and a one-year fellowship in interventional cardiology at University of Nebraska Medical Center.

In addition to cardiovascular disease, Ahmed is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and interventional cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology

Ahmed joined Morris Hospital Cardiovascular Specialists in September 2013. He sees patients at office locations at 151 W. High St. in Morris, and at the Morris Hospital Ridge Road Campus, 27240 W. Saxony Dr. in Channahon.
