MORRIS – Two Morris teenagers were arrested early Tuesday morning after authorities said they stole from a number of vehicles and for breaking curfew.
About 4:17 a.m. Morris police were called to the 1000 block of Wauponsee Street for a report that a vehicle had been entered and property stolen, according to a news release from Morris police.
The investigation revealed multiple vehicles in the area, which also included Adams, Liberty and High streets, had been entered. The total amount appears to be nine vehicles.
“Our investigation shows every one of [the vehicles] that was entered was unlocked,” Chief Brent Dite said Wednesday.
The two male juveniles were located in the area and the stolen property was recovered. Dite did not have a total value of all the property stolen, but said it was a variety of property.
The juveniles were processed at the Morris Police Department and later released to their parents. The case is being referred to Grundy County Juvenile Probation Department.
“We can’t stress enough to the public, please remember to secure your vehicles and residences, many times this will minimize your chances of being a victim of a crime,” Dite said in the news release.
