MORRIS – The Morris Hospital Yorkville Campus is now open and serving patients with services such as immediate care, laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound and CT scan.
The new location at 105 Saravanos Drive is just south of the intersection of Route 71 and Route 47.
Immediate Care is open seven days a week, with weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekend hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patients with minor illness or injuries are seen by a family medicine physician and do not need an appointment.
“Immediate Care is the perfect solution for patients who have a minor medical condition that requires prompt attention, yet a visit to their personal physician may not be possible,” said Dr. Robert Marino, Medical Director of Immediate Care and Occupational Medicine at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, in a news release.
Conditions commonly treated in the immediate care setting include coughs, colds, sore throats, cuts and lacerations, ear and eye infections, fever and flu-like symptoms, insect stings and bites, minor burns, rash or skin irritations, simple fractures, sinus infections, sports injuries, sprains and strains and upper respiratory conditions.
Dr. Jonathan Parker is the full-time immediate care physician at the Yorkville Campus. A graduate of Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Parker completed a three-year family practice residency at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. He has 10 years experience in the immediate care setting.
The Morris Hospital Yorkville Campus also is equipped with a full-service laboratory, with orders accepted from any physician. Specimens collected in the Morris Hospital Yorkville Laboratory are processed at Morris Hospital, with timely results sent to the ordering physician. Laboratory testing is available at the Yorkville Campus Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The new location also offers X-ray, ultrasound and CT scan testing. CT scans are offered Monday through Friday, ultrasounds are available Monday through Saturday, and X-ray services are available daily.
According to Marino, the Yorkville Campus also is positioned to serve area employers with drug screenings, breath/alcohol testing, injury care, basic physicals and DOT physicals. Plans are in place to expand occupational medicine services to include audiometry testing, pulmonary function testing and firefighter physicals in the future.
