A person was airlifted from the rest area on westbound Interstate 80 near Minooka Saturday morning.
Illinois State Police District 5 reported a vehicle was pulling into the rest stop with mechanical issues and the driver lost control of the vehicle hitting some parked vehicles and pedestrians.
The vehicle struck two pedestrians who were near one of the parked vehicles causing injuries and requiring one of the victims to be airlifted from the scene to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, according to a spokesperson from state police Sunday.
Multiple agencies were on scene, including Minooka and Morris fire districts.
As of Sunday, no citations or charges were issued and the incident was still under investigation.
