MORRIS – Dresden Generating Station is holding an open house for the public to learn more about the station. The nuclear plant’s annual open house will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday in the station’s training building, 6500 N. Dresden Road in Morris.
“More than 225 people attended our last open house,” said vice president Shane Marik in a news release. “This event is a terrific opportunity for residents to see what we do at Dresden Station and how safety is the number-one priority for us each day.”
Attendees can talk one-on-one with employees about station operations, environmental stewardship, security, safety, emergency preparedness and more. Visitors will also be able to tour the station’s control room simulator, which is where operator training is conducted.
Those attending must bring a state issued ID. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
