Area youth getting in the swing of things

Standard Bank 22, Blue Stem Solutions 8: Standard Bank was highlighted by back-to-back home runs by Aaron Wills and Matthew Sizemore, and hitting by Kohen Gross, Aden Delahera and Conner Dearing. Blue Stem was led in hitting by A.J. Franzetti and Zach Smolkovich and an excellent defensive play by Chris Hovious and Nikki Hovious.

Brandt Builders 10, ReMax Top Properties 5: Brandt Builders was led by Nick Perry’s four hits, while Colin Pfeifer had three hits. For ReMax Top Properties, Conner Mettille, Landon Norris and Ethan Knezevich each had three hits, while a great defensive effort was turned in by Maddox Reta.


Minooka Fire Department 8, Walsh Tree Service 2: Minooka Fire Department compiled eight runs on 16 hits. Minooka Fire Department was led by three hits from Jack Rasmussen and two hits each from Brody Luzbetak, Brayden Zilis, Joey Jaskowiak, Izaac Gonzalez and Ayden Crumly. Walsh Tree Service rallied together to push through two runs in the fourth with solid hits from Justin Jones (2 for 2, 1 run), Nolan Walsh (2 for 2, 1 run) and Henry Stafford (2 for 2, 2 RBIs).



Indiana Playmakers Elite 24, Minooka Rivercats 10: Logan Crowther led the Minooka offense, going 3 for 3 with three RBIs.

Streator Aces Elite 18, Minooka Rivercats 7: Logan Crowther led the Minooka offense with two hits, including a towering home run to the parking lot. Ivan Dahlberg added a double for Minooka.

Streator Aces Elite 16, Minooka Rivercats 1: Ryan Norman had two hits for Minooka.

Minooka Rivercats 7, WDS Thunder 4: Caleb Parker started and pitched three no-hit innings. Ryan Norman, Zac Monnett and Parker led the offense with two hits each. Zac Monnett pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to pick up the save.

Minooka Rivercats 12, Hinsdale Illinois Redbirds 2: Minooka starter Ryan Norman pitched three strong innings, while Frankie Hummel finished up with two strong innings of relief. Zac Monnett had two hits, while Ivan Dahlberg belted a towering home run deep into the parking lot.

Minooka Rivercats 11, Lockport Vipers 3: At Lockport, the Minooka offense was led by Matthew Dailey with three hits and two RBIs. Anthony Lizzio, Ivan Dahlberg and Logan Crowther added two hits each.


Fat Boyz Pizza 20, Sherwin Williams Paint 10: For Fat Boyz, Jacob Love was 3 for 3 with a double off the center-field fence. Pablo Pardo had a double and a triple. Julian Reyes had two hits, including a double. Also getting hits for Fat Boyz were Devon Kaiser with a double, Bryce Barnes, Ian Ban and Tre Sangiacomo.

Homewood-Flossmor 3, Minooka 8U 2: H-F scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Minooka (2-3). Offensively, Zach Kellams, Joey Jaskowiak and Spencer Bruinsma each had a hit for Minooka. Noah Munson continued his string of strong pitching performances by throwing two scoreless innings, striking out two.


Morris Hospital & Healthcare Center 15, Channahon Rockets 11: Carly Berta had a hard shot down the third base line, while Gracie Anderson and Karli McMillin hit shots off the Rockets pitcher for Morris Hospital & Healthcare Center. Dakota Wilkins and Taylor Mackin teamed up for a great defensive play at home plate for a force out. Sofia Dziuba, Claire Olsen, Raygen Pilon and Dakota Wilkins each pitched well. For Channahon Rockets, Delaini Majetic had a great offensive game hitting the ball, and Camryn Nelson played a great defensive game.

Minooka Pharmacy 13, Channahon Rockets 10: For Minooka Pharmacy, Taylor Lopina, Cece Marlow, Sydney Gapinski and Sarah Grouleh all pitched well. Gabi Garcia and Noelle Brunke highlighted the offense. For Channahon Rockets, Gracie Dooley and Kyra Kenney each had a strong offensive and defensive game.
