MORRIS – Children and young adults ages 8 to 17 have a chance to take to the skies this Sunday as Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 95 hosts a Young Eagles Flight Rally at Morris Municipal Airport.
The rally is part of the EAA Young Eagles program, created to interest young people in aviation, according to a news release from Chapter 95. Since the program was launched in 1992, volunteer EAA pilots have flown more than 1.8 million young people who reside in more than 90 countries.
Those attending the flight rally Sunday are asked to schedule their flight ahead of time, so they don’t have a long wait. Times will be scheduled starting at 9 a.m. If you are unable to schedule a flight, come by the airport office on the day of the event and EAA will make every effort to fit your kids into the schedule.
Flights will begin at 9 a.m. with registration closing at 2 p.m. To register, call during the daytime at 815-634-8511, or during the evenings at 815-634-8992.
