Youth Roundup: Minooka Rivercats 10U takes third in Peoria

At the St. Jude Brad Wallin Memorial Tournament in Peoria last weekend, the Minooka Rivercats 10U baseball team finished third out of 35 teams. Those and results from other youth area baseball and softball games:



Minooka Rivercats 10U 15, Limestone Rockets 10: Minooka won the third-place game with an explosive offensive performance. Ryan Norman led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, including two doubles. Ivan Dahlberg and Logan Crowther each added three hits, while Caleb Parker, Ethan Hocking, Tommy Kuhel and Matthew Dailey each added two hits for Minooka.

Chatham Braves 11, Minooka Rivercats 10U 3: In the final four of the 35 team tournament, Minooka fell to the eventual tournament champion. Zac Monnett led the offense with three hits.

Minooka Rivercats 10U 16, Pekin Gamers 1: Ivan Dahlberg pitched a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. Norman led the offense with three hits, including two doubles. Monnett, Parker, Dahlberg, Frankie Hummel, Hocking and Tommy Kuhel added two hits for the red-hot Minooka offense.

Minooka Rivercats 11, IVC Ghosts (Peoria) 0: Parker and Norman combined for a one-hit shutout. Minooka’s offense was led by Norman, Monnett, Dahlberg, and Hummel with two hits each.

Minooka Rivercats 19, Bloomington Renegades Red 0: In a must-win second pool game, Dahlberg pitched a clutch one-hit shutout. Dailey went 4 for 4 with four RBIs, and Monnett added four singles and three runs scored. Hummel, Crowther, and Dahlberg added three hits each. Minooka advanced to the Championship bracket.

Chatham Braves 9, Minooka Rivercats 2: In the first pool game of tournament, Dailey led the Minooka offense with two hits. Monnett pitched two innings of scoreless relief.


Minooka Rivercats 7, Troy Titans 3: In a well-pitched game on both sides, Minooka was led on the mound by Ben Cservenyak and Ryan Swanson. Malcolm Walker led the Rivercats with two hits and Reece Harris, Cservanyak, Tyler Schumal, A.J. Lewis and Tyler Vasquez each had hits.


Fat Boyz Pizza 14, Sports Huddle 10: For Fat Boyz, all 13 players got at least one hit. Tre Sangiacome was 3 for 4. Bryce Barnes was 2 for 3, and Pablo Pardo was 2 for 4 with a double. Jacob Love also had a double.

Fat Boyz Pizza 10, Shorewood Animal Hospital 6: For Fat Boyz Pizza, Barnes and Pardo pitched the win. Barnes had three strikouts, and Pardo had eight. Love and Barnes both went 2 for 3. Jack Kennedy hit a double. Also having hits for Fat Boyz, were Pablo Pardo, Pedro Pardo and Sangiacomo.



Minooka CARCARE Collision Center 6, Channahon McCoys Tire & Auto 0: In a weather-shortened game, Justin Craven pitched the shutout with four strikeouts.

Minooka Shorewood Home & Auto 14, Canal Auto Rebuilders 7: Leading the way for Minooka were Jon Brandom, who pitched for the win and went 3 for 3 at the plate with a bases-loaded triple. Adding multiple hits were Trey Mendoza and Collin Kaufman.
