Upper Iowa dean’s
list honors area alum
MORRIS – Kaitlyn Chatten, a mathematics major from Morris, was named to Upper Iowa University 2013-14 spring dean’s list.
To be honored, the undergraduate must have earned a minimum 3.50 GPA for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.
Tyler Coleman named to Beloit College dean’s list
Tyler Coleman of Morris was recently named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Beloit College. Coleman is a junior.
Beloit College is a leading liberal arts college founded on the Wisconsin frontier in 1846.

Morris resident honored by Butler University
Joel McVey, an actuarial science major and a resident of Morris, was one of 824 Butler University students who completed degree requirements in May 2014.
McVey, also was on Butler University’s dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students at Butler who carry at least 12 academic hours in a given semester are eligible for the dean’s list in the college in which they are enrolled.
Coal City resident earns degree from Pomona
Stephen Wesley Ragain of Coal City has graduated from Pomona College with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. The college’s 121st commencement exercises were May 18.
Ragain was a member of Phi Beta Kapa at Pomona. He is a graduate of Reed-Custer High School. Ragain’s parents are John Ragain of Wilmington, and Amy Seeley of Coal City. Ragain’s grandparents are Richard and Mary Ellen Ragain of Wilmington and George and Sonja Jones of Villa Grove.
Minooka native graduates from University of Illinois
At the University of Illinois- Springfield’s 43rd commencement May 17, a Minooka native received his degrees, pending completion of university requirements: Raymond Anthony Dykstra, business administration.
dean’s list announced
Two local students are on the dean’s list at Monmouth College for the spring semester.
Danielle Morgan Cummings, a junior elementary education major, and daughter of Michael Cummings and Jeffrey G. and Cynthia Hunt of Morris; and Kaitlyn M. Washburn, a senior accounting major, and the daughter of Eric and Jeanne Washburn of Morris made the dean’s list.
Scoring a 3.5 or higher GPA, while earning at least three academic credits during the semester, is required to be on the dean’s list.
Local students makes it on Lewis’ dean’s list
Lewis University announced numerous local dean’s list honorees for the spring semester.
Cassandra Anciulis of Coal City, Benjamin Aichele of Morris, Kimberly Ulivi of Morris, Alejandro Rodriguez Jr. of Seneca, Annie Martello of Morris, Kristen Seaward of Coal City, Heidi Crowl of Morris, Kaelyn Williams of Seneca and Cody Post of Morris.
To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit with a GPA of 3.5 out of a possible 4.0.

Linn State Technical College announces Dean’s List
Linn State Technical College would like to congratulate students who made the Dean’s List for the 2014 spring semester.
Locally both Derek Cheshareck and Mitchell Redford of Morris made the list.
To be placed on the Dean’s List, a full-time student must earn a semester grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0 on a 4-point scale.
