Morris Chiefs to hold free football camps

The Morris Chiefs will be holding youth football summer camps this Saturday, June 21 and June 28 from 8 a.m. to noon at Shabbona Middle School. The camp is free and open to the public. Camp T-shirts will be available to buy for $10. Campers should bring something to drink for the camp. Also, registration forms for football players and cheerleaders will be available during the camp as well. Minooka CARCARE Collision Center 10, Whiteford Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 7: Nate Rednor had two triples, and Jake Sandei had a double and a single.


Bluff City Sox 13, Minooka Mudslingers 1: At the Jacksonville “Play the Turf” Tournament, this was the first time the Mudslingers played a game on artificial turf. Unfortunately, they lost to the eventual tournament champions. Julian Reyes started off the game with triple after a 10-pitch at-bat. Jack Kennedy hit a double. Tre Sangiacomo hit a single, and Pedro Pardo went 2 for 2.


Fat Boyz Pizza 17, John Wright State Farm 6: Fat Boyz Pizza is on fire winning their sixth game in a row. Good pitching by Bryce Barnes and Pablo Pardo helped seal the win. Jack Kennedy and Pablo Pardo both went 2 for 4 with two doubles each. Also having doubles in this game were Pedro Pardo and Jacob Love. Bryce Barnes had 2 hits. Julian Reyes, Ian Ban and Devon Kaiser all had a hit each as well.

Fat Boyz Pizza 18, 3rd Base Bar & Grill 1: For Fat Boyz, Bryce Harris, Pedro Pardo and Jacob Love combined for 10 combined strikeouts. Pablo Pardo hit an inside-the-park home run. At the plate, Ian Ban went 3 for 3, Donald Roemer went 2 for 2 and Bryce Harris went 2 for 3. Mark Klimchak, Tre Sangiacomo, Jack Kennedy and Julian Reyes also had hits.



DE Thompson Rockets 6, 1st Community Bank Stars 3: Gabby Stahl recorded one strikeout and only gave up two hits in the win. Allison Smith hit a shot to center, recording two RBIs.

DE Thompson Rockets 15, Morris Ritchey 6: Alette McDonald, Peyton Lowden and Emma Thompson ptiched for the Rockets. Sydney Bruinsma hit a double, bringing in three runs for the Rockets. Allison Smith added an RBI.


Remax Top Properties 15, Sandworks 11: Dylan Skubic (4 hits), Landon Norris (3 hits), Joe Muscato (4 hits) and Caston Norris (3 hits), were a combined 14 of 16 at the plate for Remax, which also had  great defensive play from Ethan Knezevich and Conner Mettille. Vinny Luzzi and Anthony Vuckovich led the team with four hits apiece, and Mark Kiger had three hits.
