Man killed in Ottawa accident

OTTAWA -- A man died Monday evening in an accident where officials found his vehicle in water at U.S. Silica Sand Plant in Ottawa.

The man's identification has not been released pending notification of family, according to a news release sent by the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office Monday night.

The vehicle went over an embankment landing about 60 to 70 feet down in some water at the plant located near west Main Street and Boyce Memorial Drive. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office and coroner's office are investigating the incident.
