MINOOKA – The Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 boardduring a special meeting Monday night hired Sarah Massey as the Minooka Junior High Principal.
The board chose Massey, who has previously worked for the district as a teacher and an administrator, after selecting eight candidates to be interviewed, according to a news release. Two finalists were chosen for a second interview.
"During the past week we contacted references on the two finalists to verify experience, background information, and gather recommendations. [Monday] morning we interviewed the two finalists and as a committee we selected Sarah to fill the MJHS position," Superintendent Al Gegenheimer said in the news release.
Massey was first hired at the junior high as a teacher in 2000. In 2007 she was promoted to fill an assistant principal vacancy at the junior high. In the summer of 2009, she accepted an offer to fill a vacancy at Minooka Community High School. Massey spent the last five years at MCHS.
"We are excited to have her back," Gegenheimer said in the news release.
