Morris Hospital announces next blood drive

Big Band Concert

COAL CITY – A Big Band Concert featuring Del Bergeson Orchestra and the Legacy Girls will be held July 19.

Boogie Woogie back to the ’30s and ’40s July 19 at Campbell Park, 515 S. Broadway St. in Coal City.

The village of Coal City and Exelon Generation will be sponsoring the band. It is free and concessions will be available.

The Legacy Girls will perform from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the Del Bergeson Orchestra will play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Morris Hospital

announces blood drive

MORRIS – Morris Hospital is hosting a blood drive in cooperation with Heartland Blood Centers from 12:30 to 4 p.m. July 23 in Education Rooms 2 & 3 at Morris Hospital, 150 W. High St. in Morris.

In order to donate blood, potential donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and feeling well on the day of donation, and be at least 17 years old. In Illinois, 16-year-olds may donate with written approval from a parent or guardian.

The entire process for donating blood takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Donors should bring photo identification with proof of age. Those planning to donate should eat within four hours preceding the donation.

Appointments are recommended by calling Morris Hospital at 815-364-8915. Walk-ins are welcome.
