MINOOKA – Police are still looking for a Joliet man they say stabbed a fellow employee on Friday at the World Class Distribution Inc. warehouse in Minooka.
A warrant was issued Saturday in Grundy County for Marshall L. Brown, of the 200 block of North Broadway in Joliet, charging him with aggravated battery, according to Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer. The warrant carries a $250,000 bond.
About 4:15 p.m. Friday, Brown and a 31-year-old Country Club Hills man were working inside a freezer unit at World Class Distribution, 1510 Cargo Court, when they began arguing, Meyer said.
"There was a disagreement between the two individuals, and Brown allegedly stabbed his co-worker and fled the scene in a vehicle," Meyer said.
The victim received a wound to his chest, abdomen and two to his legs, the chief said Monday. The victim was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and was in stable condition Monday. He is expected to survive and is cooperating with police on the investigation.
Brown was not in custody as of Monday evening and Minooka police are working with other agencies to locate Brown.
Anyone with information on Brown's whereabouts is asked to call police at 815-467-2161 or anonymously call Grundy County CrimeStoppers at 815-942-9667.
World Class Distribution ships products for Trader Joe's grocery stores. Company officials based in Fontana, California, had no comment as of Monday afternoon.
