MORRIS – A crash late Sunday night left a 22-year-old man dead after he and two others were ejected from the vehicle.

The crash occurred on Route 6 about a half-mile west of Gun Club Road, according to a news release from Grundy County Coroner John Callahan. An SUV was traveling east on Route 6 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway into the south ditch where it rolled several times.

At some point, three people were ejected from the vehicle and one remained inside the vehicle, according to the news release. The 22-year-old man, who was one of the people ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by Callahan shortly after midnight.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until positive identification is made and notification is made to the family.

The crash remains under investigation by Callahan’s office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department. The Morris Fire and EMS assisted at the crash scene.
