ROMEOVILLE – While most teens spent their summer with friends enjoying their free time, two Minooka Community High School students are spending countless hours rehearsing and performing in "Shrek The Musical" at Lewis University in Romeoville.

Nathan Zurawski, a junior at Minooka, was cast as Pinocchio in the show while Ben Dow, a sophomore, was cast as one of the three pigs, the Pied Piper and a guard. Dow's younger sister Emily also is taking part in the production and has been cast in several parts including Little Shrek and Tinkerbell.

Lewis University's Philip Lynch Theatre kicked of the 2014-2015 season by going green with the production of "Shrek The Musical," which opened July 18 and will continue with performances through Sunday. The musical is based on DreamWorks film "Shrek" and brings the hilarious story to life on stage.

The teenagers plan to continue to perform throughout the school year in productions at Minooka Community High School and look forward to future opportunities.

There are performances through Sunday at 8 p.m. Sunday matinee begins at 2:30 p.m. In addition, there is a matinee at 4 p.m. Saturday. Patrons may reserve tickets by calling 815-836-5500.
