Roundup: Joliet Slammers announce giveaway nights

JOLIET – The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy are introducing a promotion that literally pays to be a Slammers fan in the months of August and September. The Absolutely Amazing August promotion includes a guaranteed cash giveaway each home game, with a bonus every Thursday presented by Gordon Food Service (GFS) in addition to the schedule of promotions, giveaways, live music, and great deals.

Fans 21 and older can fill out an entry form at the Absolutely Amazing August Cash Booth located behind section 101. Winners must be 21 years of age and present at the time the Slammers announce that night’s attendance in the eighth inning. The higher that night’s attendance, the higher the cash prize for Slammers fans. Also, as a bonus on Thursday nights fans have the opportunity to win another $1,000 courtesy of GFS. Cash prizes ranging from $1-$100 will be hidden in hot dogs and on the bottom of fountain drinks on Thursdays, starting Aug. 14. Be sure to arrive early to see if your concession item will win you cash. Cash giveaway increments will be:

• $250 guaranteed to be given away to one fan each night

• $500 if 1,000 – 1,999 is the announced attendance

• $750 if 2,000 – 2,999 is the announced attendance

• $1,000 if 3,000 – 4,999 is the announced attendance

• $5,000 if 5,000 or more is the announced attendance

• $1,000 Thursday food and drink bonus presented by GFS

With 22 games in August and September, there is plenty of time to enjoy Slammers baseball. Included in those 22 games are two Military Mondays (active and veteran military can receive free tickets), four Two Dollar Tuesdays (Reserved tickets and hot dogs are just $2), four Awareness Wednesdays, four Thirsty Thursdays (enjoy $2 Bud and Bud Light drafts), two Fireworks Fridays (enjoy a post-game fireworks show, then take your ticket to Harrah’s Casino Joliet for $10 in free slot play), three Saturday Night Lives (enjoy live music after the game), and three Family Sundays (Kids 12 and younger eat free, free face painting and balloon artists, post-game autographs). Other fireworks dates include: Aug. 30 and Sept. 4.

The Slammers also have some exciting promotions in August. Friday kicks off the excitement with Princess Night and a post-game princess themed fireworks show. Saturday is NASCAR Night presented by Twisted Tea/Lemonade. Aug. 9 will have a classic Slammers bobble head give away to the first 1,000 fans. On Aug. 21, fans can enjoy Jimmy Buffett Night. Be sure to dress in your favorite costume for the chance to win more great prizes. Aug. 30 will feature a special post-game fireworks show and Game Show Night.
