Grundy Ag Fair talent show winners announced

MORRIS – Local dancers took home the majority of the prizes during the Grundy County Agricultural Fair's Talent Contest held earlier this month at the Grundy County Fairgrounds.

The winners from the Junior Division of the contest were first place – Olivia Russell of Wilmington dancing to "Wherever You Will Go;" second place – Jessica Leasure of Coal City singing "Blown Away;" and third place – Jennalise Mallo of Plainfield singing "Brave." Each winner received a plaque as well as a cash reward.

Other Junior Division participants were Aubree Ritter, Kaitlyn White, both of Wilmington and both dancers; Rain Sanburg of Seneca, also a dancer; and Evelyn Gorecki of Frankfort who sang and tap danced. Singing acts were Sophie Shanks of Seneca, Natalie Arwood of Seneca, Audrey Land of Wilmington, Maddy Knapp of Morris, Darby O'Shea of Braidwood and Faith Nelson of Morris.

The winners from the Senior Division were first place – Abby Karczynski of Wilmington dancing to "Don't Rain on My Parade;" second place – Season Shumard of Wilmington dancing to "Feelings;" and third place – Jessie Nash of Wilmington dancing to "Insensitive."

Other Senior Division participants were Katelyn and Anna Tulley, Breanna Barry and Mary Beattie, all of Wilmington and all dancers.

The event was moderated by Director Karin Facko of Braidwood and the judges were Angela Baumeister and Zee Torrez of WCSJ radio and Dawn Taylor of Plainfield.
