MORRIS – Families are invited to attend State Sen. Sue Rezin and state Rep. John Anthony’s Children’s Health and Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 16 at Saratoga Elementary School, 4040 N. Division Street, Morris.
The event will feature state and local agencies, non-profit organizations and businesses covering a wide range of educational, health, child care, recreational and community services for families and children, according to a news release.
Admission to the event is free with complimentary refreshments and giveaways provided. Information will be available on topics such as cyber bullying, fire safety, bicycle safety, after-school programs, daycare, nutrition, internet safety and volunteer opportunities.
"This is a wonderful event filled with activities and learning opportunities for families," Rezin, R-Morris, said in the release."My family and my kids are the most important things in my life, so I'm glad we can host this type of event to help us all come together."
Demonstrations at the event include Chang Lee’s Taekwondo Martial Arts, Donna Mueller’s School of Dance and the Traveling World of Reptiles Show. The Touch-A-Truck exhibit featuring over 20 trucks and a medical helicopter also will be in the parking lot.
“As a father of four young children, my wife and I value the many outstanding individuals and organizations in our community who offer programs and services that help kids grow, learn and explore new adventures,” Anthony, R-Plainfield, said in the release. “This event showcases the tremendous local resources and activities available to kids right here in our own backyard.
