Farm producers schedule meeting for local counties

MORRIS – With the new 2014 Farm Bill comes a lot of questions.

How does the new Farm Bill affect Highly Erodible Land Conservation and Wetland Conservation Compliance? What conservation programs are available now? What are program eligibility requirements?

The local Natural Resources Conservation Service Kendall and Grundy County Field Offices will host free, informational meetings for local agricultural producers and landowners to provide the answers to these and other conservation-related questions, according to a news release from the service.

Producers and landowners are invited to attend one of the following meetings:

• 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Yorkville USDA Service Center, 7775A Route 47, Yorkville

• 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Morris USDA Service Center, 3605 N. State Route 47, Morris

To reserve a seat, contact the Yorkville Field Office at 630-553-5821, ext. 3, or the Morris Field Office at 815-942-0359, ext. 3.
