COAL CITY - A woman was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after she apparently jumped from a moving car and was struck by it.

Police said in a statement that Christopher S. Storms, 42, and Tami J. Storms, 40, were arguing about 7:25 p.m. as they drove west on Route 113 in front of Coal City High School.

Tami Storms, the passenger, "jumped out of the moving vehicle (and) was struck by the vehicle after she jumped out the passenger door," according to the statement.

Tami Storms was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition Monday.
