MORRIS – A woman was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by LifeStar helicopter Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck a tree on the west entrance road to Stratton Park.

"A call came in that we had an accident with extrication with one patient pinned in the car," Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District Chief Tracey Steffes said.

Steffes said Tuesday afternoon there was no information available on the victim's condition.

Morris Deputy Police Chief John Severson said the accident is under investigation and that police would release more information when it was available.

Stratton Park was closed about 2 p.m. Tuesday following the accident, to allow a LifeStar helicopter to land in the park to assist at the scene.

The park was reopened about 3:20 p.m., but the west entrance remained closed while police continued their investigation.
