Baby sitter’s training course to be held
Morris Hospital is holding a baby sitter’s training course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 in Whitman Assembly Room 1 at Morris Hospital, 150 W. High St. in Morris. Morris Hospital to hold
volunteer recruitment fair
Morris Hospital has scheduled a volunteer recruitment fair from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in Whitman Assembly Room 1 at Morris Hospital, 150 W. High St., Morris.
The fair provides an opportunity for adults who are interested in learning more about volunteering at Morris Hospital to meet volunteers in various assignments.
Volunteers are particularly needed at this time for the surgical waiting room, gift shop, and reception desk.
Volunteer drivers and drivers’ assistants also are needed for the patienttransportation program.
All volunteers receive thorough training in order to carry out their specific responsibilities. Hospital volunteers are also provided a uniform and picture identification badge to wear while performing volunteer duties.
In appreciation of their service, Morris Hospital provides volunteers complimentary flu shots, participation in Morris Hospital fitness classes, meals in the hospital on the day of service, as well as recognition for service hours.

Special Connections of Grundy County golf outing
Special Connections of Grundy County will host its 4th annual golf outing, Sept. 6, at Nettle Creek Country Club in Morris. The outing benefits Special Connections, a nonprofit organization, in their mission to connect people with disabilities to their community through social interactions, education, recreational opportunities and shared information. They promote an environment of inclusion, self-determination and knowledge.
Beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., lunch, raffles and prizes will follow at 1:30 p.m. Registration, $450 per foursome or $125 per individual golfer, includes golf, cart and lunch. Not a golfer? Join the group for lunch only for $25 per person.
There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available, ranging from $25 to $2,500. Donations for raffle items are welcome. All sponsors will be recognized at the event.
