Business briefs: Chamber event to focus on succession planning

MORRIS – Join The Grundy County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday for the next Chamber Lunch & Learn.

The presenter will be Angie Kaysen Luzbetak, Ed.D., of Joliet Junior College, who will present “Succession Planning – Building Affinity and Investing in Employees – a brief philosophical look at the art of succession planning to support employee growth and longevity.”

Succession planning is about cultivating talent and creating a plan to ensure employees are skilled and knowledgeable, providing upward mobility in the workplace.

The lunch is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Maria’s Ristorante, 1591 N. Division St., Morris.

Attendees are asked to park in the rear of the building. Cost is $20 a member and $25 a nonmember. Reservations must be made in advance at 815-942-0113 or to events@grundychamber.com.

Women in Business event offers ownership insight

The Grundy County Women in Business will discuss Covering the Bases at its Wednesday lunch at the Morris Country Club.

Presenters will provide insights into business ownership and business management. Participants can ask questions, exchange information and learn from others.

Presenters include: Michelle Denoyer, Edward Jones; Joan Harrop, Gomien & Harrop Ltd.; Cathy Macchietto, Macchietto Roth & Company P.C.; Chris McCabe, McCabe Real Estate Group; and Ann Olszta, Heartland Bank and Trust
