Has aging or too much time in the sun left their mark?
Laser skin rejuvenation can help turn back the clock and make skin look younger and healthier.
Who is a candidate?
“Anyone who has fine lines, wrinkles or acne scarring,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.
And clients can expect to see results after the first treatment.
“Collagen starts to move to the surface and more smoothing will become present,” Malinowski said.
She said treatments are best done in a series of three, especially for scarring.
Two different modalities can be used for laser skin rejuvenation. For both, topical is first applied to numb the skin.
The Sciton MicroLaserPeel™ is a peel procedure where the laser removes the top layer of the skin to remove dead skin cells.
“Essentially removing the dead skin cells which build up and make lines look deeper,” Malinowski said. “When you remove these lines the skin appears smooth.”
The ProFractional™ laser procedure creates tiny holes deep into the dermis.
“When this occurs the skin repairs itself by pushing collagen up to the surface, thus causing tightening,” Malinowski said.
And what do her clients think of the results?
“They love it,” she said. “Their pores are smaller. They have smooth skin with minimized lines and wrinkles.”
Malinowski said those that do Broadband Laser for age spots also see a significant difference in their skin.
“Their hyperpigmentation is lightened up dramatically,” she said.
After the procedures, clients are encouraged to establish a good skin regimen to maintain the results that are achieved, as well as applying a daily SPF and an antioxidant to protect their skin from UVA and UVB rays and free radical breakdown.
