MORRIS – The Grundy County Chamber of Commerce’s recent Business Spotlight highlights a new home décor shop in downtown Morris, Outside In by Cappenollie.
The shop, located at 124 W. Illinois Ave. in Morris, is owned by Valerie Baker and Kristal Hutchings and employs four people. It is a unique vintage boutique and features more than two dozen vendors providing an eclectic mix of old, new, upcycled, handmade and vintage treasures.
“We are a family-owned and operated business. My daughter and I created and grew our business over the last four years. We have taken a new approach to the traditional antique store by incorporating old, new, upcycled, heirloom, collectibles, gifts, handmade and items for the do-it-yourselfers. We have many vendors that participate in filling the store with new items daily,” Baker said.
“We want to become a well-known destination shopping location for the community of Morris,” she continued.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
“The Grundy County Chamber is excited to have Outside In join our membership. Their ribbon cutting and grand opening last week attracted numerous shoppers not only to their store, but to the other establishments in downtown Morris,” Chamber Executive Director Christina Van Yperen said. “Valerie and Kristal’s business is a great asset to our county’s business community.”
