Immaculate Conception Youth Group caroling on Saturday
The junior high youth group from Immaculate Conception School will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday at Park Pointe Nursing Home for caroling, then return to ICS for a party until 5 p.m. The high school youth group will meet at the narthex of the church at 6 p.m. for caroling, then move to 602 Briar Lane for a party until 10 p.m.
First United Methodist Church cantata to be on the weekend
The First United Methodist Church in Morris, 118 W. Jackson Street, will be holding a Christmas Cantata at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Christmas Eve Special Needs Mass planned for Dec. 24
Families who have children or adult members with special needs are invited to the Christmas Eve Special Needs Mass at 2 p.m. December 24 at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield, in the Cana Hall.
While we want everyone to feel welcome at any and all parish Masses, we are pleased to offer this opportunity to attend Mass in a comfortable and supportive setting.
Families needing ease of access to our Parish Center where Cana Hall is located may use the drop-off drive at door No. 15 behind the church on Frederick Street, then park around front in the lot.

Helmar Lutheran Church Kumla Dinner fundraiser in January
Helmar Lutheran Church is having an All You Can Eat Kumla Dinner 4:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 21, 2017.
The proceeds are to support the HLC Food Pantry, which has grown from serving 10 to 120 families, twice a month, in its nine years of operation.
The dinner includes ham, kumla (like a dumpling), applesauce, dessert and beverage.
For those who would prefer an alternative, a baked potato can be substituted for kumla.

Carry-outs will be available. It is a free-will donation dinner.

United Methodist Church ‘Hallelujah’ soup supper on Jan. 7
Coal City United Methodist Church, located at 6805 E. McArdle Road in Coal City, invites the community to join them for their first “Hallelujah” Soup Supper of the New Year from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 7, 2017.
They will be serving homemade cheesy potato and stuffed green pepper soups.
The cost will be $8 for adults and children ages 13 and older; $4 for children ages 6 to 12; $2 for children ages 3 to 5; and children age 2 and younger can eat for free.
All proceeds will go to the church’s building fund. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Each meal includes your choice of soup, a sandwich, crackers, a beverage, ice cream and dessert.
Carry-outs will be available.
