MORRIS – The members of the Morris and Seneca boys basketball teams will get to play at one of the state’s most well-known arenas on Saturday, Jan. 7.
On that day, at 2 p.m., the Redskins will take on the Fighting Irish at the United Center in Chicago, home of the Bulls and Blackhawks.
Tickets are on sale at the Morris Community High School Athletic Office.
For $50, a fan gets admission to the high school game in the afternoon, and to the Bulls game against the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m.
“The Bulls have done this for a while with the high schools all around the Chicago area,” Morris athletic director Jeff Johnson said. “Seneca has done it a few times and this year, their coach [Russell Witte] reached out to our coach [Joe Blumberg] and asked if we wanted to do it. It was a great opportunity to get our kids to play at the United Center.”
Johnson said that each school is allotted 250 tickets, and that each ticket is supposed to be used for both games.
“The tickets for the Bulls game are up in the 300 level, but it’s still a Bulls ticket,” he said. “For the high school game, though, you can sit down in the lower bowl, wherever you want.”
For tickets, visit the MCHS Athletic Office by entering the school through Door 31, which is the main entrance to the District 101 Rec Center, and see Johnson or Amber Sharp in the athletic office.
