Minooka High School National Honor Society inducts new members

MINOOKA – Congratulations are extended to the newest members of the Minooka Community High School chapter of the National Honor Society.

These student leaders were inducted during a special ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the MCHS – Central Campus Performing Arts Center.

The 2016-17 NHS Officers include Kyle Knaub – president; Hailey Arlis – secretary; Megan Watts – treasurer; Chloe Bacza – historian; and Hannah Gedwill – community relations.

MCHS Principal Mr. Ronald Kiesewetter was recognized as the Honorary Staff NHS Member, and MCHS Class of 1998 alum Mark Skwarczynski was the evening’s guest speaker.

National Honor Society candidates must meet the chapter’s requirements for scholarship, service, leadership and character in order to be selected for membership. Once members, students strive to exemplify these traits through numerous academic, social and civic efforts.
