Morris girls bowlers roll past Sterling

STERLING — The Morris girls bowing team continued to improve Tuesday night, posting a 3,189-2,635 Northern Illinois Big 12 win over Sterling,

Sophomore Cadenz Fitzgerald led the Redskins, who finished third in the Plainfield South tournament during the holiday break, shooting 172, 259 and 221 for a series of 652, while and senior Amy Waldron rolled games of 204, 222 and 169 for a series of 595.

"The girls are still showing improvement every time we bowl," Morris coach Harry Banks said. "The next six weeks are important to see where our future lies with regionals and sectionals."

The Morris JV team lost all three games and series, bowling a 1,896 to Sterling's 2,301.

The Redskins' next tournament is Saturday in Sycamore.
