Referendum information nights

Newark Community High School District 18 will host referendum information nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 14 at Lisbon Grade School, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 20 at Newark Community High School and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 21 at Millbrook Junior High ahead of the April 4 election.

The referendum is a $16 million building bond issue that will cover building renovations, classroom improvements and a gym, locker rooms, fine arts center, concession stand, restrooms and a weight room.

District reserve funds will also be used.

The proposed plans include new science labs, new classrooms, ADA-compliant improvements to an elevator, an updated family and consumer science room, a new fine arts center, a weight room, a new competition gym and locker rooms, relocating baseball and softball fields and updated nursing, social services and administrative offices.
